My research addresses some of the geometric modeling issues that arise in the area of medical imaging. In particular, I am working on techniques for creating accurate B-spline representations of complex anatomical objects in the human body. Statistical analysis is extensively used in the area of medical imaging to retrieve anatomical shapes and perform various kinds of analysis tasks on the shapes thus obtained. Through this class, I would like to get a better understanding of the statistical theory involved so that I may better interpret the relevant literature on medical image analysis and possibly apply such analysis in my research. Please do let me know if you need anything else. Suraj.
