The computer aided analysis of raster map images is important to many applications.  The process is as follows:

• A map is scanned into a digital image.
  
• Low-level image analysis is performed.
  
• High-level image analysis is performed.
  
• The analysis of the map is reported in digital form.

This project involves the following aspects:

• Build an image analysis system in C/C++/Java based on a MNDAS Matlab Prototype.
